Welcome to Sigma Xi Phi Chapter at UCCS

We are so pleased to have you all join Sigma Xi Phi and be part of the local and global nursing community.  There are over 500 chapters worldwide in over 90 countries.  Sigma International truly brings nurses together, especially during these difficult times.

Our chapter was chartered on April 28, 1996, and has provided years of nursing care and involvement to our community.

Wondering how you can be more involved in Sigma events and with this nursing community?  Participate in our bi-monthly general members meetings.  At these meetings, you can volunteer to be part of or lead a committee.  Learn about our internship, scholarship, and research grant programs.  Find volunteer opportunities you are interested in (TESSA, career fairs, Veteran Stand Down, evidence-based practice conference, induction planning, Pike's Peak Nightingale Awards).  We have opportunities available for all interests and are willing to take suggestions for additional activities.

We have additional social media sites that will also have our events and important information shared on them.  See below for easy access links to our social media sites.  If you'd like to email us directly, feel free to contact us at
SigmaXiPhi355@gmail.com

Once again, welcome to our chapter.  We are pleased that you chose to join us and we look forward to working with you all in the future.

Chapter News

  • Veterans Stand Down Pictures

Our wound care/BP assessment booth at the Veterans Homeless Stand Down was very successful this October. We had many nursing students from UCCS eager to help along with members from Xi Phi.  Here are some pictures to show our work.

We also met Colorado Senator John Hickenlooper!!

  • Homeless Veterans Stand Down volunteer opportunities

    Dear Xi Phi Members,

We are excited to invite you to participate in our annual volunteer event at the Homeless Veterans Stand Down, taking place on October 15th in Colorado Springs. This event is sponsored by the Mount Carmel Veterans Center. Xi Phi will host a table where we will provide wound care and offer blood pressure checks for homeless veterans.

We are looking for about six volunteers to assist. The event runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with volunteer shifts typically lasting 2-3 hours. This is a meaningful opportunity to show gratitude for their service and offer compassionate care.

More details will be shared soon. If you're interested in volunteering, please reach out to Evonne Young at iyoung@uccs.edu.
